Internship at MADS

System administrator [Netherlands]

MADS is recruiting a systems administrator for its mobile advertising platform for our young and ambitious team in Amsterdam or Arnhem in the Netherlands.

Role objectives:
  • Ensure optimal uptime of the MADS mobile advertising platform.
  • Minimize impact of scheduled downtime on our customer’s mobile advertising business.
  • Professionalize systems monitoring tools across our data centers.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily maintenance of servers (mixed UNIX and Windows environment)
  • Daily maintenance of databases
  • Development, configuration and maintenance of database structures (replication, mirroring, partitioning, OLTP, OLAP)
  • Configuration and maintenance of networks (VPN, firewalls, SNMP)
  • Further enhancement and development of the mobile advertising platform infrastructure in general.

A day in the office at MADS:
  • MADS is a young and fast growing company. You are innovative and know how to build up new things from scratch.
  • You will love to go to the office every day as we are located in the heart of Amsterdam close to the Nieuwmarkt.
  • You will use the latest in communication technology to keep up to date with your colleagues (Skype and MSN are more common than a telephone).
  • You will work in a dynamic and international environment with colleagues that have a drive and ambition to create the best solutions for our clients.
About you:
  • HBO / University graduated (or almost) with an ICT major
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows, UNIX/Linux, TCP/IP, VPN and SQL (MSSQL 2005)
  • Experience with MS Exchange
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch (not required)
  • Willingness to improve yourself / learn
  • Know how to set priorities in a dynamic environment

Compensation package:

Competitive fixed salary and good bonus, based on achievement of KPIs.

PHP web developer [Netherlands]

MADS is recruiting a PHP Web Developer for its mobile advertising platform for our young and ambitious team in Amsterdam or Arnhem in the Netherlands.

Role objectives:
  • Develop the user interface of the MADS mobile advertising platform.
  • Ensure that the user interface meets the high standards of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Development of the user interface (HTML/AJAX) of the MADS mobile advertising platform.
  • Development of the APIs and daemon processes.
  • Be a thought leader for the continuous improvement of the user interaction.

  • MADS is a young and fast growing company. You are innovative and know how to build up new things from scratch.
  • You will love to go to the office every day as we are located in the heart of Amsterdam close to the Nieuwmarkt.

About you:

  • Experience with HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript (AJAX) and SQL (MSSQL 2005)
  • Self-starter - You are able to create databases, configure content management systems, websites and applications on your own
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch (not required)
  • Preferably you have some experience with Flash programming

You can work from home or from the office, as long as you get the job done ;-)

Technical staff can choose to work from our office in Arnhem or Amsterdam
