Vodafone Egypt launches targeted SMS and MMS push advertising

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - June 1, 2011

Vodafone Egypt will use MADS ONE to run highly targeted mobile ads in 'Please-call-me' alerts and SMS or MMS push messages. Advertisers will be able to reach over 22 million Egyptians on their mobile phone and use powerful demograpic targeting options including age, gender, postal code, mobile spend, and mobile phone type.

Advertising in the popular 'Please call me' alerts - which Vodafone subscribers can send when they want someone else to call them - are an effective way to reach a large audience in a short timeframe. The 'Please call me' channel has over 50 million impressions per month and messages can be targeted very precisely using the 'Extreme Targeting' features in MADS ONE Campaign Manager.

SMS and MMS push advertising are a good alternative to TV or outdoor advertising: the mobile phone is very personal and consumers therefore nearly always open the messages they recieve. Moreover, push messaging offers a return path, so advertisers can engage in a dialog with consumers. <.p>

The first advertisers using the service include Pepsi Co. and Pyramisa Hotels & Resorts who were able to reach a local and highly targeted audience.
